LA BANDA ESCOLAR COMO ESPACIO DE FORMACIÓN MUSICAL: UN ESTUDIO DE LAS PRÁCTICAS DE ENSEÑANZA Y APRENDIZAJE EN UNA INSTITUCIÓN EDUCATIVA DE AYACUCHO, 2026.

Esta investigación buscó comprender las prácticas de enseñanza y aprendizaje musical que se dan en la banda escolar de la Institución Educativa Pública Glorioso "San Juan", ubicada en el distrito de San Juan Bautista, provincia de Huamanga, región Ayacucho, durante el año 2026. Surge de la necesidad de entender cómo las experiencias musicales colectivas contribuyen al desarrollo de competencias musicales y a la formación de los estudiantes dentro del contexto escolar. El estudio se trabajó bajo el paradigma interpretativo, con enfoque cualitativo, nivel descriptivo-interpretativo y diseño de estudio de caso. Participaron el director de la banda escolar y estudiantes integrantes de la agrupación musical, seleccionados según su pertinencia y participación en el fenómeno estudiado. Para recoger la información se usaron la entrevista semiestructurada y la observación participante, y los datos se analizaron mediante codificación, categorización y triangulación. Los resultados permiten entender que la banda escolar es un espacio de formación musical donde las prácticas de enseñanza del director, junto con las experiencias de aprendizaje colaborativo de los estudiantes, favorecen el desarrollo de habilidades musicales, la interpretación colectiva, la convivencia y el sentido de pertenencia institucional. También se vio que la práctica constante, la retroalimentación formativa y la participación en actividades artísticas fortalecen el aprendizaje musical y promueven valores como la responsabilidad, la disciplina y el trabajo en equipo. La banda escolar va más allá de la enseñanza técnica de los instrumentos: es un espacio de formación humana, artística y cultural que aporta al desarrollo de los estudiantes y fortalece la educación musical en el contexto educativo ayacuchano.

This study sought to understand the music teaching and learning practices that took place in the school band at the Glorioso “San Juan” Public Educational Institution, located in the district of San Juan Bautista, province of Huamanga, Ayacucho region, during the year 2026. It arose from the need to understand how collective musical experiences contribute to the development of musical competencies and to the education of students within the school context. The study was conducted within an interpretive paradigm, employing a qualitative approach, a descriptive-interpretive level of analysis, and a case study design. Participants included the school band director and students who were members of the musical group, selected based on their relevance to and participation in the phenomenon under study. Semi-structured interviews and participant observation were used to collect information, and the data were analyzed through coding, categorization, and triangulation. The results reveal that the school band is a space for musical education where the conductor’s teaching practices, together with the students’ collaborative learning experiences, foster the development of musical skills, collective performance, social interaction, and a sense of institutional belonging. It was also found that consistent practice, formative feedback, and participation in artistic activities strengthen musical learning and promote values such as responsibility, discipline, and teamwork. The school band goes beyond the technical instruction of instruments: it is a space for human, artistic, and cultural development that contributes to students’ growth and strengthens music education within the Ayacucho educational context.
